New England Tubing Technologies (NETT) endeavors to continuously expand our capabilities to support the needs and requirements of our customers’ increasing demands. We installed our first cleanroom in 2019 and are pleased to announce that during Q1 of 2022 an additional cleanroom was added to support the assembly activities of NETT – effectively tripling our previous cleanroom capacity. This area is utilized extensively for our medical device assembly when required by product and/or customer demands.
Cleanrooms are clean air environments where a specific size of air particulates are prevented from entering, keeping air pollutants controlled during manufacturing. Cleanrooms can be a critical requirement for any industry that is highly sensitive to environmental contamination, especially medical manufacturing assembly.
The classification of each cleanroom changes dependent on size and prevalence of the air particulates in the cleanroom. NETT’s cleanrooms meet the criteria for ISO 14644-1:2015 Class 8 environment where we maintain a filtration level of no more than 100,000 particles per cubic foot of interior air. We personally strive to maintain this area of our facility beyond the minimum limits of the ISO standards. In addition to employing strict control of temperature, pressure, and humidity utilizing cleanroom technologies, we also take mitigation measures to prevent cleanroom personnel from bringing pollutants into the area by utilizing gowns, hairnets, and overshoe coverings.
Beyond controlling environmental contamination, another positive impact of utilizing a cleanroom is a gain in actual productivity. When a process is highly controlled, it provides stability, reliability and becomes more efficient – a positive result for both our customers and NETT! We understand the benefit of cleanrooms and recognize the positive impact they have on our process, procedures, and overall product reliability for our customers.
